The Bat & Ball is a charming country pub, nestled in the small village of Breamore (pronounced Bremmer), you’ll find us just on the outskirts of the New Forest National Park. We promise to always make you feel welcome, whether you’re joining us for a beer and nibbles in the bar, or enjoying a leisurely meal in the restaurant.
Serving traditional English pub food, with a modern South African twist, there is plenty of choice and something to please everyone.
With beautiful countryside views The Bat and Ball’s large pub garden is perfect for relaxing on a hot summers day with all the family. We even have a large tipi Alfresco dining area you can enjoy too. And for those chilly evenings, enjoy a warm atmosphere inside with our 3 traditional fireplaces – you’ll find plenty of cosy nooks in The Bat and Ball.
The Bat and Ball takes great pride in delivering good food and great service. We believe that working with quality and local ingredients is key to a delicious meal. Our Chefs only use the freshest ingredients and we even grow our herbs and vegetables onsite so you can enjoy flavours straight from the garden!
We take great care to ensure that our menu has plenty of choice for everyone– from moreish sharers and nibbles to start, pub classics with fresh modern twists to the oh-so indulgent pudding.
We believe in taking Sunday’s slowly, with locally sourced low roasted meats, perfectly paired with seasonal veg are at the heart of the long standing traditional of a Sunday roast.

Inside the bar and restaurant you'll find a relaxed traditional style with plenty of cosy nooks. We are lucky enough to have 3 wood burning fireplaces too for those chillier months!
Launched in summer 2021 this brand new Tipi tent provides our beautiful new Alfresco dining experience. This is a covered heated area outside which has been stylish decorated and even has blankets in the winter!
Our beer garden is a brilliant area for those relaxed summer days. With bench style seating and umbrellas, don't forget we are dog friendly. We have garden games and board games for all the family to enjoy!
We have a passion for sustainability in the hospitality sector and are ready to make changes now to impact our business and local area.
Our goal is to become less reliant on traditional supply chains, reduce food miles, wastage and ensure our customers receive more homegrown produce.
One way we wanted to focus on achieving this is by growing our produce onsite hydroponically.
Hydroponics is the cultivation of plants without using soil. Hydroponic flowers, herbs, and vegetables are planted and supplied with nutrient-rich solutions, oxygen, and water.
We are really excited to be starting this project for the pub and finding our solution to becoming net zero.

The 160sqm polytunnel is located next to our car park and constructed using locally sourced equipment and materials. Limiting the amount of single use plastic is a vitally important part of becoming carbon neutral for us. Hydroponic growing supports with this as we are reducing the single use packaging being delivered to our site and inevitably thrown away.
In the UK it is estimated that five million tonnes of plastic is used every year, nearly half of which is packaging!
The main produce we are currently focused on growing Hydroponically include 20 varieties of;
Herbs
Salad leaves
Tomatoes
Peppers
Cucumbers
Strawberries
Micro herbs
with over 1000 growing at any one time!
We aim to expand this variety in time as well as growing flowers, plants and root veg for the gardens.
Our Chefs are excited to use the freshest produce for their dishes. The whole team are involved in ensuring the crops are supplied with the nutrients they need from seeds, to harvesting them and creating a delicious dish to be proud of. Our customers can be confident that by dining with us today you have helped towards our goal of a more sustainable future.
